Research & Advisory Services

Research & Advisory Services generates high-quality theoretical and empirical research evidence on Tax, Customs, Fiscal policy and Management, through close partnerships with scholars, policymakers, practitioners and researchers. The mandate of the unit:

  1. To conduct research and consultancy, in collaboration with other external institutions and departments within KRA, in priority areas as determined from time to time, and apply the research findings for the betterment in tax/customs policy making and training programmes.
  2. To produce tax and customs literature for the advancement of knowledge and skills in tax/ customs administration.
  3. Facilities for seminars, workshops, symposia or conferences on taxation and related issues.
  4. Establish and maintain relevant media for dissemination and publication of research results such as research website page(s), research tips and the African Tax and Customs Review(ATCR) journal
